On Sunday 14 March a group of cyclists Cycling Club traveled to Lleida Almatret local connection with the IV route in the BTT Almatret I Xallenge David Duaigües, challenge with this name on the death of this being the organizer of the race while putting out a fire last summer in L'Horta de Sant Joan (Tarragona).
Riders traveled to the town of Almatret were: Daniel Sallan, Daniel Aguilera, Joaquin Rufat, Joaquin Bellera, Andres Bellera and Hector Lloret and accompanied by Maxi Palacio, Joaquin and Jose Maria Aguilera Bellera. Portal del Sol came towards Almatret around 6:30 and he had in front over 100 km of flight and the test began at about 9:00.
The test began at 9:15, at an exit where there were over 500 participants, then be divided into two circuits, a length of 41 km and go for the xallenge and a 20 km non-competitive.
The test run began in Almatret giving a little twist of 3 km and returning to this village and then headed towards the Almatret Tozal through lanes and trialeras until near the dam where Ribarroja we found the first refreshment, after a rise of about 6-7 km until you reach a point where I was going through a circuit or another. The short circuit takes you directly to the goal as long commanded you to do other paths and trialeras down with that for a while had the odd flat and uphill to reach a point where he was the second supplies from there to a further fall practice to begin with paths and trialeras up to the first refreshment area ( it would be the third) Ribarroja surrounding the reservoir. After this last supplies began a gentle but long climb up Almatret about 8 km.
The results obtained were not very prominent as the best positioned in Rufat Joaquin was ranked 126, was 128 Bellera Joaquin, Daniel Sallan that had an engine failure could only finish the Hector Lloret 143 and 235. On the other hand had to Andres Bellera make the short through injury and Daniel Aguilera had to leave the test by several faults.
The second and final round of this Xallenge, will be this coming Sunday 21 in the town of Serós Lleida.
